Butterfly

All three episodes from the British television drama miniseries in which a young boy causes division between his already separated parents when he makes it known that he feels more female than male. When Max (Callum Booth-Ford)'s father Stephen (Emmett J Scanlan) walked out on him and Max's mother, Vicky (Anna Friel), when Max was only eight-years-old, he was unable to comprehend his son's gender confusion. Now at the age of 12, Max is confident that he wishes to identify as a girl instead of a boy. Facing pressure from school bullies and the rising tension of his parents' animosity towards each other, Max self-harms, prompting Vicky and Stephen to take drastic action to make their son happy and try to help him in his transition.
