Idealistic Lars Nystrom (Hawke) storms a bank in Stockholm with convict Gunnar Sorensson (Mark Strong) and holds three members of staff hostage, including head teller Bianca Lind (Rapace), demanding freedom for Sorensson as well as one million US dollars. As the hostage situation unfolds Lars and Bianca develop an unlikely and curious attachment to one another.
