All seven episodes of the British drama starring Edward Fox as Edward VIII, the king who abdicated for love. When the Prince of Wales meets Mrs Simpson (Cynthia Harris), romance swiftly develops between them. After the death of his father, Edward succeeds to the throne in January 1936 and asks Mrs Simpson to marry him. However, he faces immense political and religious opposition due to her status as a divorcee with two living ex-husbands and ultimately, he chooses to abdicate in December 1936 so that he can be with her.
