Business consultant Dan Fox’s career is flying high, but his personal life isn’t. The recent split from his girlfriend Emma was hardly amicable, and now odd things are happening – late night phone calls, tampered newspapers… and unpleasant notes. Which can’t be anything to do with Emma.

Except they can. Except not in the way Dan was expecting. It’s not Emma, no. Emma, who’s also on the receiving end of harassment. Emma, who clearly has secrets she hasn’t shared with him, including her real career. Secrets she won’t fully share even with Peter Tait, the Manchester Detective Sergeant assigned to unravel the mystery. Can they be the reason all this is happening? What is it that she won’t share with Tait; won’t share or can’t share? And as the threats escalate, what will it take to persuade her that she has to?
