As she's about to settle in to retirement, Sandra (Staunton) discovers that her husband Mike (John Sessions) has been having an affair with her best friend Pamela (Josie Lawrence). Finding herself at a loss and having to start her life over, Sandra moves in with her hippy sister Bif (Imrie) and sets out on a path of self-discovery, along the way recapturing the happy-go-lucky woman she used to be.
