I Fought The Law

All four episodes of the crime drama starring Sheridan Smith as Ann Ming, a former nurse who spent years fighting for justice for her murdered daughter. Julie Hogg (Victoria Wyant) was 22 years old when she was murdered by her neighbour, William Dunlop (Jack James Ryan). The police were slow to investigate and it was Ann who found her daughter's body three months after she disappeared. The resulting court case ended with two hung juries and an acquittal and Dunlop then began talking freely about the crime, believing that he could not be tried again. Ann however refused to give up and campaigned for the double jeopardy law to be overturned in the hope that Julie would finally receive justice.
