Stand By Me

Rob Reiner directs this coming-of-age drama based on the novella 'The Body' by Stephen King. Upon hearing that an old friend has died, a writer reminisces about his childhood in 1950s Oregon. As a 12-year-old boy, Gordie (Wil Wheaton)'s best friends consisted of Chris (River Phoenix), Teddy (Corey Feldman) and Vern (Jerry O'Connell). When the latter hears his older brother bragging that his gang have seen the dead body of a local missing person by the railway track, the four boys set out to find the corpse for themselves, unaware of the profound impact this decision will have upon their lives. The cast also includes Richard Dreyfuss, Kiefer Sutherland and John Cusack.
