In a move which would have surprised many at the time, Nick's sixth solo album 'The Apple Bed' was originally released in August 1997 on Creation Records. Among other things, Creation - and particularly their biggest act, Oasis - was closely associated with Britpop, a movement that sought to emulate concise, well-crafted songs of the Beat era thirty years earlier. A path that Nick had been following successfully for many years, as is evident on the singles included here, 'Today', 'The Man You Used To Be' and 'Stars In Her Eyes'.
