Final instalment of Peter Jackson's adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy trilogy. As Frodo and Sam (Elijah Wood and Sean Astin) make their way through Mordor, Gandalf (Ian McKellen) rides to Minas Tirith to warn Denethor (John Noble) of Sauron's plan to attack Gondor. After reclaiming his birthright, Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) leads the outnumbered forces of Gondor and Rohan into battle against Mordor's forces, determined to avert Sauron's gaze so that Frodo can complete his quest to destroy the Ring by casting it into the fires of Mount Doom. The cast also includes Orlando Bloom, John Rhys-Davies and Bernard Hill.
