Errol Flynn stars in this swashbuckling adventure directed by Michael Curtiz and William Keighley. When King Richard the Lionheart (Ian Hunter) is captured in Austria, his wicked brother Prince John (Claude Rains) steals the throne. Sir Robin of Locksley (Flynn) defies Prince John and in response, his lands are seized and he is branded an outlaw. As Robin and his men steal from the rich whilst aiding the poor, they must also take on Prince John's henchmen including the Sheriff of Nottingham (Melville Cooper) and Sir Guy of Gisborne (Basil Rathbone) as they fight to see Richard restored to the throne. The cast also includes Olivia de Havilland, Eugene Pallette and Patric Knowles.
