Jean-Louis Trintignant and Klaus Kinski star in this Spaghetti Western directed by Sergio Corbucci. A group of mercenary bounty killers led by the brutal Loco (Kinski) is in pursuit of a band of outlaws who have escaped and are hiding out in the hills of the bleak, snow-covered Utah frontier. After they remorselessly kill an innocent man who happens to cross their bloody path, the man's widow, Pauline (Vonetta McGee) calls upon much-feared gunslinger 'Silence' (Trintignant) - so called because he has been mute since his throat was cut as a child - to seek revenge. Caught between the innocent inhabitants of the local community and the corrupt bounty hunters, Silence decides to mete out his own brand of justice.
