Documentary focusing on the career of American photographer Jim Marshall, who captured iconic images of rock musicians and the civil rights movement in the 1960s and '70s. The film chronicles Marshall's early career in 1960s San Francisco where he photographed artists including the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane and Jimi Hendrix, explores his troubled personal life and features interview footage in which he discusses his approach to his craft and some of his best shots.
