Kôjirô Hongô and Miyoko Akaza star in this Japanese horror directed by Satsuo Yamamoto. Hagiwara Shinzaburô (Hongô) has never been interested in marriage until he meets Otsuyu (Akaza) during the Obon festival and they fall in love. However, he does not realise that Otsuyu and her maid Oyone (Michiko Otsuka) are ghosts and that being with Otsuyu could spell his doom. As his servant Banzo (Kô Nishimura) attempts to convince him of the terrible truth, can Shinzaburô be saved? The cast also includes Mayumi Ogawa and Takashi Shimura.
