In ancient Mexico, Emperor Kukulkan (Tony Steedman) follows the path of Quala, the Feathered Serpent, and seeks to reestablish worship of Quala among his people, who have lately begun following the bloodthirsty Teschata instead. However, Teschata's priest Nasca (Troughton) opposes this plan and will do whatever it takes to see it fail.
