Cantonese-language action comedy directed by Yuen Woo-ping. In the Qing Dynasty, marriage between Manchu and Han people is forbidden. When it is revealed that Kao Hsiung (Eddy Ko), a high-ranking official in the Emperor's court, has married a Han woman, the Emperor orders him to kill her in front of the assembled court. When he refuses, he is forced to watch as the Sorcerer Bat (Yuen Shun-yi) kills her. Fleeing for his life, he takes the Emperor's infant son with him but is devastated when he accidentally causes the death of the young prince. Taking in an orphaned boy, he raises him instead, but the Sorcerer Bat never stops hunting Kao Hsiung and thinks that the young man with him, Shu Gut (Yuen Yat-chor), is the long-lost prince. When he realises his mistake, he decides to use him to trick the Emperor, but Shu Gut seeks sanctuary with a pair of Taoist priests who teach him martial arts and magical skills so that he can defend himself. The cast also includes Leung Ka-yan and Yuen Cheung-yan.
