The Stuff

Low-budget satirical horror written and directed by Larry Cohen. When a strange white substance is discovered bubbling up out of the Earth, it is found to be extremely tasty and is marketed as a replacement for ice cream. As people become increasingly obsessed with it, young Jason (Scott Bloom) witnesses it moving around his fridge one evening, but fails to convince his parents of its dangers. Former FBI agent David 'Mo' Rutherford (Michael Moriarty), now an industrial saboteur, is hired to find out exactly what the substance is and discovers that it is actually an extraterrestrial organism which eats people from the inside out and turns them into crazed zombie-like creatures before they die. With the country in crisis, can Rutherford and Jason destroy the substance before it's too late? The cast also includes Andrea Marcovicci, Paul Sorvino and Garrett Morris.
