Classic 1930s comedy starring John Barrymore as a Broadway producer who discovers model Mildred Plotka (Carole Lombard) and makes her a star. Oscar Jaffe (Barrymore) casts Mildred in his latest play, transforming her into the actress Lily Garland. However, after enjoying a series of successful productions, she grows tired of his domineering ways and absconds, leading Oscar to pursue her aboard the '20th Century' - the famous New York-to-Chicago train.
