Spencer Tracy stars in this classic drama directed by John Sturges. In late 1945, John Macreedy (Tracy) arrives in the remote desert town of Black Rock in California looking for a Japanese-American man. The residents of the town become increasingly hostile as Macreedy makes inquiries and he soon discovers that they are concealing an appalling secret and will go to great lengths to keep it hidden.
