Big Heat. The

Crime thriller directed by Fritz Lang and starring Glenn Ford, Gloria Grahame and Jocelyn Brando. Police officer Dave Bannion (Ford) suspects that his police force is being manipulated by a brutal gangster and doggedly follows his trail. After a colleague commits suicide and his fellow officers are utterly silent on the matter, Bannion knows something is seriously amiss. But when his wife is killed in a bomb attack meant to take him out of the picture, Bannion steps outside the bounds of the law in his vengeful hunt for the gangster alongside the jilted girlfriend of his enemy, Debby (Grahame).
