Double bill of Japanese features written and directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa. In the drama 'Charisma' (1999) police officer Goro Yabuike (Kôji Yakusho) loses his job after a hostage negotiation he is leading goes tragically wrong. In the aftermath he seeks solace in a remote forest but soon finds himself caught in the middle of the conflict surrounding a unique and potentially dangerous tree. With some believing it should be destroyed and others seeking to protect it, Goro must determine its fate. In the psychological thriller 'Cloud' (2024) Ryôsuke Yoshii (Masaki Suda) makes a living buying and selling goods online. When he discovers that several of his customers have banded together to seek revenge on him and another reseller for their dubious dealings, he finds himself the target of a vengeful pursuit.
