Collection of musical dramas starring Elvis Presley. 'Jailhouse Rock' (1957) follows young construction worker Vince Everett (Presley) who is sent to prison for accidentally killing a man. While behind bars he discovers his passion for music and begins to nurture his talent with the help of his cellmate, former country singer Hunk Houghton (Mickey Shaughnessy). After he is released over a year later, Vince attracts the attention of beautiful music promoter Peggy Van Alden (Judy Tyler) who helps him catch his big break. In 'Viva Las Vegas' (1964) Presley stars as racing driver Lucky Jackson, who finds that he can't keep his mind on the Las Vegas Grand Prix after he meets sexy swimming instructor Rusty Martin (Ann-Margret). In 'Girl Happy' (1965) Rusty Wells (Presley) travels down from Chicago to Florida to work as a nightclub singer. He funds his travels by agreeing to chaperone a gang of college girls, one of whom is the flirtatious daughter of a mobster. In 'Spinout' (1966) freewheeling singer Mike McCoy (Presley) has three beautiful women trying to get him down the aisle. However, by agreeing to drive an experimental new car in a race he might have cut short his chances of ever wedding. 'Elvis: That's the Way It Is' (1970) documents Elvis' return to Las Vegas for his second season. 'Elvis On Tour' (1972) depicts Elvis live in performance and in rehearsal during a 15-city cross-country tour in 1972. Finally, 'This Is Elvis' (1981) combines live footage and dramatic reconstruction to chronicle the personality and business dealings of the king of rock 'n' roll.
