Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris star in this comedy directed by Gary Nelson. Ellen Andrews (Harris) and her teenage daughter Annabel (Foster) are often at odds with each other. When they both independently wish that they could trade places with each other for a day on Friday the 13th, their wishes are granted immediately and they switch bodies. While Annabel, now in her mother's body, attempts to navigate the responsibilities of running a home and must prepare for an unexpected dinner party, Ellen struggles to cope with life at high school. At the end of a very chaotic day, having come to a better understanding of each other, they are desperate to return to their own bodies. The cast also includes John Astin, Patsy Kelly and Dick Van Patten.
