Joseph Losey directs this 1960s war drama starring Dirk Bogarde. During WWI, British Army lawyer Captain Hargreaves (Bogarde) has been assigned to defend Arthur Hamp (Tom Courtenay), a young private who faces the death penalty for desertion.
