French drama based on the book by Georges-Marc Benamou. The story follows the last years of a political leadership and private life of Francois Mitterand (Michel Bouquet). As the President engages in his final battle with illness, a dedicated young journalist (Jalil Lespert) tries to extract from him some universal lessons on politics and history, love and literature and the certainties about life.
