US comedy drama. 17-year-old Miles Walton (Tim Boardman) dreams of escaping his dead-end small town and going to college in Chicago. However, after the death of his father, Miles discovers his mum Pam (Molly Shannon) doesn't have enough money to put him through college. Desperate to find another way to leave, Miles discovers a volleyball scholarship and decides to try out for his high school's girls-only team. Despite the support of the coach (Missi Pyle), his participation causes trouble amongst the locals who don't believe a boy should be allowed on the team, including his mum's new love interest, Lloyd (Paul Reiser).
