'Mirror Ball' pairs him with members of Pearl Jam for a loose, powerful set recorded live in the studio over a handful of sessions in Seattle with producer Brendan O'Brien. Often arriving with freshly written songs, Young captured the group reacting in real time, giving the album its rough-edged, spontaneous feel. Built around dense guitars, long jams and unpolished performances, tracks like 'I'm the Ocean', 'Downtown' and 'Throw Your Hatred Down' channel both confrontation and idealism, while 'Peace And Love' features co-writing and vocals from Eddie Vedder.
