Trace Lysette stars as the eponymous character in this drama from film-maker Andrea Pallaoro. Many years after she was kicked out of her home due to her family's rejection of her gender identity, Monica receives a call from her sister-in-law Laura (Emily Browning), inviting her to help with her mother Eugenia (Patricia Clarkson)'s care, as she is suffering from a debilitating illness affecting her memory.
