'Canti della Pianura' ('Songs of the Plain', a personal evocation of the countryside of the huge Po Valley, where Rosetta was born and lived) dates from 1970. The four movements correspond to times of the day: the 'Dawn' ('Mattutino'), the 'Afternoon' ('Meridiana'), the 'Evening' ('Vespertina') and the 'Night' ('Serenata'). The 'Preludi per Gilardino' were written for his pupil, guitarist Angelo Gilardino, who actually inspired him to write for the guitar.
