Double bill of youth dramas from Japanese film-maker Chusei Sone. In 'Scars of the Sun' (1981) gang member Shuhei (Kenichi Kaneda)'s already turbulent life is further complicated when he is reunited with his estranged brother, whose arrival soon causes tension within the group. In 'Blow the Night!' (1983) Namie Takada stars as a version of herself. Caught in the wilderness between childhood and adulthood, 15-year-old Namie behaves increasingly recklessly - smoking, doing drugs and fighting - as she attempts to survive school, heartbreak and betrayal.
