In 'Scream' (1996), set in the small American town of Woodsboro, California, a psychotic masked killer with a love of horror movies murders teenager Casey Becker (Drew Barrymore). As a media circus descends on the town, the killer begins terrorising Casey's high school classmate, Sidney Prescott (Campbell), whose mother was murdered a year earlier. When Sidney encounters the stalker and escapes, her boyfriend Billy (Skeet Ulrich) is arrested on suspicion of murder. However, the phone calls and killings continue, so Sidney and her friends consult the rules of horror films as they try to unmask the killer before they strike again. In 'Scream' (2022), 25 years after the infamous Woodsboro murders, Sidney reunites with reporter Gail Weathers (Cox) and police officer Dewey Riley (Arquette) when another psychotic killer with a love of horror movies dons the Ghostface mask and begins to terrorise the teenagers of the plagued Californian town. The cast also includes Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Dylan Minnette and Jack Quaid.
