Slumdog Millionaire

Dev Patel stars in this drama directed by Danny Boyle. Jamal Malik (Patel) is an 18-year-old from the slums of Mumbai who appears on the Indian version of 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire'. However, the police believe that a young man with his background cannot possibly have acquired the knowledge needed to be only one correct answer away from winning 20 million rupees and, with only one more question to be asked, Jamal's dream turns into a nightmare. As the hooter sounds to signal the end of the show, Jamal is arrested and accused of cheating. When Jamal tells the story of his life to the police, the reasons for his success become clear. Will Jamal be freed to hear the final question and, if so, will he know the answer?
