Time After Time

Malcolm McDowell and David Warner star in this sci-fi adventure directed by Nicholas Meyer. In 1893 in London, author H.G. Wells (McDowell) has succeeded in building a time machine and is showing it to his dinner guests one evening when it is hijacked by his friend John Leslie Stevenson (Warner) after the police arrive. It quickly becomes apparent that Stevenson, a surgeon, is the serial killer known as Jack the Ripper. Wells follows Stevenson to San Francisco in 1979 where he is shocked to discover the chaos of modern society. Mistakenly believing that Stevenson has died, Wells begins a romance with Amy Robbins (Mary Steenburgen) and shares his secret invention with her. However, when they venture into the future together, they discover that Stevenson has continued his killing spree and now, Amy's life is in danger.
