Ataru Oikawa directs this Japanese supernatural horror based on the manga by Junji Ito. Whilst investigating the murder of high school student Tomie Kawakami (Miho Kanno), Detective Harada (Tomorô Taguchi) discovers that several students and one teacher have either committed suicide or succumbed to madness since the time of the murder. He also learns that this is not the first time a girl named Tomie Kawakami has been murdered and soon uncovers a history of similar cases. Meanwhile, Tomie's classmate Tsukiko Izumisawa (Mami Nakamura) has lost her memories from the time of Tomie's murder and is now experiencing something terrifying...
