Unitas In Pluralitate By Caspers, Charles

As a liturgical source Libri ordinarii are primarily of high importance for the study of the historical development and theological interpretation of liturgy. Because of the dominant part which the church, liturgy and piety played in Medieval society, Libri ordinarii are also important for cultural history. The culture-historical value even surpasses their ecclesiastical and liturgical significance. The study of Ordinarii touches on various facets of daily life and sheds light on different subjects. They provide insight into the social significance of the church during the high and later Middle Ages.
