In 'Young Guns' (1988), set in 1878, William 'Billy the Kid' Bonney (Estevez) joins a group of farmhands protecting a cattle ranch in New Mexico. Billy and his gang set out to avenge the murder of their employer, rancher John Tunstall (Terence Stamp), but their vendetta becomes a bloody rampage and they soon find themselves hunted by the local authorities. In 'Young Guns II' (1990) Billy and his gang break out of jail and head towards Mexico, with his former partner Pat Garrett (William L. Petersen) enlisted to hunt down and kill the outlaw.
